Kaisergalerie

Grosse Bleichen 23-27 in Hamburg

The „Kaisergalerie“, erected from 1907-1909 and listed in the „Liste erkannter Denkmäler“ (List of recognised monuments) in Hamburg, is a distinctive gemstone within the Hamburg city-center. In January 2010, alstria agreed on a joined venture with Quantum Immobilien AG.

The property is located in Grosse Bleichen 23-27 directly in the center of Hamburg. The location is characterised by high-class retailers and exclusive office buildings as well as by manifold cultural conditions. Due to these facilities, the location belongs to the most sought-after areas in the center of Hamburg.

After the movement of the Ohnsorg-Theatre in 2011, the then empty area will be converted into 3,400 sqm of attractive retail space. A passage through the Kaisergalerie will connect the highly frequented „Grosse Bleichen“ to the Bleichenfleet. In the course of this development, also a new footbridge at the waterside of the Kaisergalerie will be added, so that, in the future, it will be possible to saunter beside the “Fleet” (town canal) from “Alte Post” to Kaisergalerie and further up to the “Stadthöfe”.

The Kaisergalerie features many well-preserved original stylistic elements, for instance historical pillars, coffered ceilings, paneling etc., which will be integrated into a new retail concept and will provide the asset with a unique charm and identity.
